Yesterday afternoon, after mowing the backyard of his home in Denton, TX, Roy Robertson sat down to rest. The Lord chose at that time to grant Roy his eternal rest. A servant of the Lord overseas for just shy of 60 years, Roy is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus, whose gospel he faithfully proclaimed to the end. He is survived by six children and their spouses, as well as many grandchildren, and countless spiritual children. The loss is great. (Posted: 5/9/2008) We spent the better part of the Christmas holiday getting better acquainted with our new Shanghai staff family. Jason and Cindy have been involved with the Shanghai team for years. When they became serious about marriage, they turned to Joe and Hannah for counsel; at that point their relationship took a turn into deeper discipleship. Now that they've had their first child, they lean even more heavily on Joe and Hannah. As the different members grow through the stages of life, we're seeing stronger ties built through these new dimensions. We look forward to every form of growth the Lord brings our colaborers. (Posted: 1/3/2008) It is with great heaviness of heart that we announce the passing of Phyllis Robertson. While at home on Saturday, November 24, she suffered a major hemorrhage in her brain and passed into unconsciousness. Roy and family members spent the next two days with her in the hospital, until the Lord took her home the following Monday. The memorial service is set for Wednesday, December 5th. She is already sorely missed, but we know she is rejoicing in the presence of Christ. She has left a tremendous legacy of godliness and remains an inspiring example of witnessing, prayer and discipling women. (Posted: 11/28/2007) Over the past few months, we've hosted two groups of colaborers from the Mainland for some character training seminars. It also proved to be a good opportunity to get to know some of the key people better, as these groups were smaller than our summer retreats. (Posted: 5/30/2007)
